Continuity of Care

Central Child Care is also proud to have been a pilot center for Continuity of Care. Continuity of Care is a state mandated requirement and our children are allowed to stay with the same peer group from infancy to age 3. The children learn social skills through the friendships they develop with each other.

Creative Curriculum Program for Early Childhood Learning

Central Child Care has implemented the Creative Curriculum program for early childhood learning. The philosophy behind this curriculum states that children learn best by doing. Learning isn't just repeating what someone else says; it requires active thinking and experimentation in order to discover how things work and learn firsthand about the world we live in.

The most important goal of any early childhood curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners. This means encouraging child to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out new ideas and to express themselves and their originality. Through the Creative Curriculum we are teaching children how to learn, not just in preschool, but for the rest of their lives. Our classroom learning environments allow children to learn at their own pace and in the ways best for each individual child. At Central Child Care we encourage the children to become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners and promote good habits and attitudes.

We believe that play provides the foundations for academic learning and gives children the chance to utilize their creativity to gain a positive sense of themselves.

The Creative Curriculum identifies goals in all areas of development:

Social Development

To help children feel comfortable in their environment, to build trust in others, make friends, and feel they are part of a group.

Emotional Development

To help experience pride and self-confidence, develop independence and self-control.

Cognitive Development

To encourage children to become confident learners by allowing them to try their own ideas and experience success, and to help them acquire learning skills, such as the ability to solve problem, ask questions, and use words to describe their ideas, observations, and feelings.

Physical Development

To help children increase their large and small muscle skills and feel confident about what their bodies can do.

All of our lessons are aligned to the Foundations to the Indiana Academic Standards for all children.
